The story takes place in a small English city where Leonard Vole and his wife, Romaine, struggle to make ends meet. A wealthy woman named Emily French is murdered. Because Vole had spent much time with Miss French in the previous weeks, he is the prime suspect.
2. Time: the period in history, the season of the year, the day of the month, and/or the hour of the day in which the events of the story occur.
This story didn't told any clue of what time, period, season of the year, day of month, or hour of the day.
3. Social environment: the location of characters and events in a particular society and/or a particular social class (lover, middle, upper class).
Leonard Vole and Romaine are lovers. They are around middle class. Miss Emily French is and upper class woman. Mr. Mayherne is a barrister so i considered him upper class.
