the story is told in Mr. Mayherne point of view. he is the narrator and he judge between who is the real culprit between Leonard and Romaine

this point of view made the story very interesting because we dont know wether leonard or romaine is the real culprit and it gave us clue little by little until the whole story is revealed.

the narrator is unreliable. he got limited knowledge and understanding of the story, because he is a barrister and he may not know the inner thoughts of the suspects.

he uses the point of view primarily to reveal the truth. he fairly withhold important information know to the focal character.
